In recent years, with the intersection and amalgamation of information technology and economic society, the global data have been growing rapidly. For each country, data have become an indispensable basic strategic resource. Especially after the release of the Action Plan for Promoting Big Data Development by the State Council in 2015, all industries have contributed to a tide of accelerating the big data industry development, and in this background, a number of businesses, institutions, and organizations with big data as their core business have sprung up, and the Language Big Data Alliance (LBDA) founded in 2016 is one of them.
On its first founding anniversary, LBDA will hold its Annual Meeting on April 7 and 8, 2017 in Guangzhou, with the theme of “Inspire the Future”. Sponsored by LBDA and co-organized by Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and Global Tone Communication Technology Co., Ltd., the meeting will bring together over 500 people worldwide, including representatives of member units, experts and scholars from colleges and universities, public officials, domestic and foreign distinguished guests, etc. Their insights into the future will be shared through a number of sub-forums centering on such fields as language, news, legislation and technology. In addition, LBDA will launch its independently developed hi-tech products at the meeting, which are available to its members to experience and apply first.

The convening of this annual meeting not only marks an important step towards the internationalization of LBDA, but also will strengthen its collaboration with global partners to co-build a powerful ecological sphere of language big data with shared prosperity.
