On April 28, 2018, under the great support of LBDA, Global Tone Communication Technology Co., Ltd. (GTCOM) unveiled its “Preparations for Major National Events—Training Camp of Translators and Interpreters” in Qingdao. This activity once again fully demonstrates the determination and resolution of LBDA in implementing the responsibilities of the Alliance, connecting college resources, and promoting the development of the industry and the cultivation of high-end talents of the country.
LBDA is a global, multi-field and multi-language alliance of scientific research and application, which has long been committed to the promotion of integrative development and resource sharing in teaching, scientific research and practice among governments, enterprises, colleges and universities, as well as research institutions.
It is said that more than 40 students of phase I selected from over 180 LBDA institutions across the country have arrived at Qingdao on April 28 for a two-week training. The first phase of students mainly come from universities and colleges such as PLA University of Foreign Language, Beijing Normal University, Beijing International Studies University, University of International Business and Economics, Heilongjiang University, Sichuan International Studies University, Qingdao University, Qingdao Agricultural University, Qufu Normal University, Shandong Normal University, Southwest University, South-central University For Nationalities, Shandong Agricultural University, Inner Mongolia Normal University, and Inner Mongolia Agricultural University. The training courses are professional and practical, which include not only the foreign affairs knowledge courses such as International Relations and International History, but also the professional courses such as Translation Theory, Scientific Translation, and Simulated Practice of Language Services.

In order to guarantee the training effect, GTCOM has made careful arrangement in terms of the teaching staff. These outstanding teachers, including senior simultaneous interpreters and translators, are experienced and skilled. They will combine the actual cases of major foreign affairs or activities concerning foreign affairs into the training. More importantly, the students with excellent training performance will have the opportunity to participate in the long-distance language services practice of major foreign affairs or relevant activities to improve their professional competence.

For the reserve and training of more high-end language service talents for national major foreign affairs or relevant activities, and the development of LBDA superior resources value, GTCOM will continue to recruit outstanding undergraduates or senior MTI students from universities and colleges of LBDA to participate in the training. At present, some members of LBDA are selecting students for the second phase training, hoping that more students will win the opportunity to improve their professional ability.
In the future, LBDA will continue to absorb the wisdom of linguists from the world’s top universities and research institutions, further explore the collaborative innovations among enterprises, scientific research institutions and universities, and promote the development of the global language industry. As the founder and secretariat member of the Alliance, GTCOM will also continue to contribute its resources of talents and technology, and strive to provide strong support for the development of all LBDA members.

【Training Camping Welfare】
GTCOM will provide trainees with subsidy of travel and accommodation expenses, and organize various parties and visiting activities. Trainees who pass the training evaluation and get enrolled in national major foreign affairs or relevant activities will be awarded practice certificates and service subsidies.
