The Graduate School of Translation and Interpreting of Beijing Foreign Studies University was founded in 1994, based on the former UN Program for Interpreters and Translators launched in 1979. So far we have produced more than 700 professional interpreters and translators who work for UN agencies and Chinese organizations. Our School enjoys a good reputation worldwide with a long tradition and excellent performance in interpreter and translator training. We maintain close partnerships with the UN agencies as well as other international organizations. We also give tests commissioned by the UN to Chinese interpreters and translators who apply for positions in the UN system. We also offer advanced interpreter and translator training courses for organizations and businesses from Hong Kong, Macau and Singapore as well as for Chinese organizations and businesses such as WTO-China Program, Agricultural Bank of China, China National Petroleum Corporation, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region government and so on.
